Nigerian Army colonel kidnapped along Abuja-Kaduna Highway

Bandits have reportedly abducted a Nigerian Army colonel after he ran into an ambush along Abuja-Kaduna Highway.

According to Peoples Gazette, SB Onifade was on a road trip at about 3am on 27th September, 2020, when he was kidnapped.

He is said to still be missing and no arrests have been made in connection with the attack on his vehicle, which occurred near the Olam Farms axis of the crucial highway.

The officer was not dressed in military uniform at the time of the abduction, military sources told Peoples Gazette.

Travelers have become increasingly fearful about using Abuja-Kaduna Highway amidst worsening cases of kidnappings and banditry.

A spokesperson for the Nigerian Army contacted to comment on the matter, did not immediately return a response on Monday afternoon.
